Horsemanship with Jayne Lavender: Past Events

Horse-Talk

Type: Education - Workshop
Where: Heartland, Serpentine, Western Australia
When: 28 November 2009 and/or 29 November from 09:00 - 12.30
The silent language of the horse is very easy to understand, because it is spoken with body-parts; just like in humans. Up to 93% of our cues to each other are non-verbal!
However, your "voice" (your body) looks a little different to the voice of the horse. You don't have mobile ears, four legs, a tail and a long face (well, some of us do!).
Jayne Lavender teaches people all over the world how to refine their non-verbal cues to be easily understood by horses. If you would like to communicate with your horse effectively and be understood, we highly recommend this Workshop as an introduction to the language of the horse.
The half day workshop starts at 9am and runs on Saturday or Sunday. You may do both days, and refine your new skills with repetition. Bring you horse or converse with one of ours! $30 deposit secures your place, $100 for the workshop.

Sea-horses

Type: Education - Workshop
Where: Naval Base Beach, Western Australia
When: 22 November 2009 from 09:00 - 11.00

Summer has arrived, and in WA we have the best opportunities to combine our passion for horses with the beautiful ocean. A truly magical experience!
I've seen horses die at the beach through bad handling and unnecessary stress. I've seen people hurt and defeated attempting to introduce their horse to the beach, the beach-goers and the sea.
Allow me to show you how to safely introduce your horse to the beach and the ocean.
You will be surprised at how ill-prepared you are to take a horse to the beach. You will be grateful the solutions are so simple, ensuring your safety, a happy horse and a magical experience every time!

Trailers!

Type: Education - Workshop
Where: Heartland, Serpentine, Western Australia
When: 21 November from 09:00 -12.00

Everything you ever wanted to know about floating horses but couldn't get a word in edgeway's for the nearest man yelling instructions at you!
Whether you have a float or not, come to this Workshop and learn about hitching, loading and towing floats. Bring your trailer if you have one, and we will compare hitches, features and play without stress, at towing and reversing!
No need to bring a horse, we will demonstrate the key strategies for loading any horse.
For $75 you will wonder why you ever worried so much about towing!

Trust

Type: Education - Workshop
Where: Heartland, Serpentine, Western Australia
When: 14 November 2009 or 15 November from 09:00 - 12:30
Can you rely on your horse? Do you have belief in yourself? Do you know how to keep you both safe and have fun?
Apart from the few with "Imagined Ability Disorder" (we all know a rider with IAD) studies indicate that in excess of 50% of horse-owners lack confidence. The reasons are many and varied, however the solution is simple and requires good knowledge, effective skills and quality coaching.
When a horse can rely on you, there is trust. When your horse can trust you, confidence naturally develops.
This is a half-day workshop, as an introduction to the "Trust" course offered by Horsemanship with Jayne Lavender. Bring your horse for Jayne to meet, and share with Jayne the occasions when trust was absent from your partnership. Together we will succeed.
Workshop fee per half day - Aus$100.

What is "Feel" and why do I need it?

Type: Education - Workshop
Where: Heartland, Serpentine, Western Australia
When: 07 November 2009 from 09:00 - 15.00

Horsemanship with Jayne Lavender are hosting a Workshops with a focus on FEEL.
The theory of Feel has been explored by great Horsemen the world over. To Jayne, after years of study AND engagement with horses, she appreciates Feel as clarity between the horse and human. A line of communication! Feel is so important many books have been written about it, and many teachers try to share Feel. No one is better at explaining Feel to a human than a horse! Humans create interference on the line of communication, white noise or static, if you like! This weekend we will tune your receiver to the right channel, so you can listen and speak whatever your imagination desires!
Bring your softest, best quality halter and a 12ft line. If you have a longer rope, or several, bring those too, and we can expand to lunging and long-lining in a way you will cherish as horseman. Of course I have many halters and lines to share, so don’t purchase a new one until you’ve discussed your requirements for Feel with your horse and I.
We’ll start at 9am to around 3pm with breaks and the opportunity to share lunch and discuss our epiphanies. The cost is Aus$175 (Aus$50 deposit) spectators Aus$50.
